Noida International Airport conducts its first calibration flight on 18th April 2024 to test the navigation systems.
"A bright and sunny day at #NIAirport set the perfect stage for a DVOR calibration flight, the first of many. The Beechcraft King Air B300 took to the skies, to ensure all @aai_official navigation equipment works flawlessly. #FromTheGroundUp," the Noida International Airport said on X.
Test flights, or calibration flights, are carried out by the Airports Authority of India (AAI) to ensure that the navigation system functions properly. This is a key factor in obtaining a license from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) for starting flights.
Trial runs at Noida( Jewar ) International Airport will be done by the end of June 2024. Approximately 80% of phase one is near completion and this trial run will embark on a new achievement in the development of the airport.
The first phase of the airport, being developed in 1,300 hectares, is scheduled to open for flight operations by September. In its first phase, the airport which has been given code DXN, will have one runway, a terminal building with a capacity to handle 12 million passengers annually.
